@bbclaurak interview with Nicola Sturgeon was generally very good. But can the BBC in explain why it was in any way in the public interest for Laura to try and press her on whether the former first minister was now in a same-sex relationship?
@JohnLoony@montie Probably not many. People often used to say that they were voting BNP when they didn’t have a BNP candidate. Some of the people I spoke to in this election *did* know they didn’t have a restore candidate - they were just upset about it.
@GavinBarwell@DavidGauke@DavidGHFrost I think that this is an attempt to impose a political paradigm on real people and communities. Most people don’t think like that. What the hell is a “socially liberal area”?

King’s speech tomorrow.
This serves as a great reminder of how constitutional monarchy helps the wheels of government keep ticking even when there is political crisis.
We would be foolish to dispense with it.
Whatever your views of the *desirability* of getting back closer to Europe, we should all be able to agree that the PM saying he wants the UK to be "at the heart of Europe" while opposing membership of the EU, its single market and customs union is a nonsense
Okay, it’s time for the final round in the Royal house run-off. Who will triumph? The merciless core Plantagenet line (1154-1399) or the ever talked-about Tudors?
@GavinBarwell@DavidGauke I didn’t say it was. My point is that the media’s comparison to 2022 - understandable but not always the most useful metric - makes it look worse than it really is.
@AlistairPhilpot@GavinBarwell@DavidGauke It was irrelevant to the point I was making intended to make someone feel lesser about their achievement. Politics doesn’t have to be like this. We can disagree on policy and still treat each other with respect .
Couldn't be happier to see my eldest son @jackdbarwell elected as a councillor (Conservative, naturally) for Selsdon Vale & Forestdale #Croydon today having run an outstanding campaign in a ward that demographically should have been a good prospect for Reform #veryproudDad
