@SholdonDaniels Black Americans are the last group on earth that should want disproportionate force to be the law of the land. They start so many fights.
@JohnHMcWhorter I think a lot of White people grow tired of being held responsible for all the ails in the black community and none of the positive attributes. How is it that blacks absorbed only the dysfunction of Celtic fringe and nothing like the protestant work ethic? Getting old.
@JohnHMcWhorter You can find overlap of all sorts of antisocial behaviors amongst dysfunctional people and cultures all over the world. This doesn't mean this behavior was bequeathed by the Celtic fringe to modern day black Americans. It's one of Sowell's worst takes.
@JohnHMcWhorter This behavior is just a symptom of a dysfunctional culture and I don't think it's worthwhile to examine its origins. Even if it were the case, it's Black culture now. They fully own it and only they can fix it.
@ChuckRossDC Black people really shouldn't want to advocate for disproportionate use of force in response to provocation when they disproportionately provoke others.
@GadSaad You should own guns and this elderly couple likely did too, but the advantage goes to the aggressor. You have to own distance and physical barriers from people who do this, first and foremost.
@FedPoasting@annakhachiyan I agree totally, but the hood code would switch had the races been reversed. These same people would be moaning about how a racist white boy pulled a knife in response to a light shove. They would say a white boy was intruding on the black boy's tent. It's hopeless.
I will not debate this case with internet commentators or lawyers trying to litigate it on social media.
People keep asking whether I believe the State has proven its case. My answer is simple: No.
Based on everything I have seen and heard, I do not believe the prosecution has proven the level of intent required for a capital murder conviction under Texas law.
This case must be decided by the law not emotion, politics, public pressure, or social media narratives.
I am not a lawyer, nor do I speak for Karmelo Anthony’s legal team. I am simply sharing my perspective based on what I have witnessed throughout this process.
As a leader, I know we have done everything within our power to ensure Karmelo received a fair trial and the strongest opportunity for a defense.
To those who support him: stay patient, stay focused, and don’t allow social media to shake your faith.
I still believe God is in control.
I still believe justice matters.
And I still believe this case will end with a not guilty verdict.
Now, we wait.

I asked a Karmelo Anthony supporter if the black community would accept the evidence if it shows that Karmelo was NOT acting in self-defense
She said that no matter what, “we gone stands with ours regardless” and questioned Metcalf’s role in the stabbing:
