Friday 15th August

The U17 Girls Bromsgrove tour concluded on Friday with a 35 over game against a strong Gloucestershire U18 side. It was brilliant to come against 2 genuine quick bowlers and a top 4 who were exceptionally organised, making it difficult for our bowlers to make inroads. Easily the toughest side we have faced all tour and season.

Our batting has been a huge strength all week and this continued albeit with a batting collapse in the last 10 overs which meant we didn’t get over 200. Gloucestershire’s batters were disciplined with excellent judgement of length and picked off anything loose. Their Meg Ahearne was picked to play for Glamorgan Women in their Tier 1 game against Yorkshire on Saturday which showed the quality they possessed.

Overall a hugely pleasing tour for the U17 Girls. Competitive opposition who have tested our skills throughout the week. Huge thanks to Bromsgrove School for hosting our in their boarding houses all week and facilitating the games at our ‘home’ venue. To Warwickshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Gloucestershire for travelling to play us and to the travelling parents/family who came to support. We look forward to these relationships continuing next season! 🏏👏🏼
