So now I’m wondering if I can use a similar method to remember more complex concepts that Year 12 learners often struggle with in Psychology. Reliability and Validity for example are two that can often be confused.

Earlier on a Year 12 student used the story method to remember a list of simple words (I was trying to demonstrate the capacity of STM) and was able to remember much more than the typical 7±2.

Being able to create informal spaces whilst working online to replicate that social aspect we lost by moving from place to non-place is a wonderful idea. A digital corridor so to speak #ABL

Interesting comments regarding a loss of place from @daveowhite. Many of my A-Level students between January and March commented on struggles with skills, such as time management, that are almost second nature in 'place'.

Although I do also think it’s important things don’t go back 100% to how things were before. There are absolutely benefits to delivering online. Conferences are one example, and being able to offer targeted support to students easier when teaching across sites is another #EdChat

Writing this lit review has made me realise that the past year wasn’t ‘online learning’. Online learning is planned to be delivered online, none of us were able to properly plan for the disruption that we encountered. It was never the preferred means of delivery #edutwitter #EdD

What we did/are doing is emergency remote teaching. I think this is an important distinction to make because it was fuelled by a crisis and we were forced to adapt.

Once the crisis has passed we’ll go back to the former method of delivery.

I’m speaking at my first conference as a doctoral student this week.

On one hand it’s fantastic and I’m really looking forward to it. (Mainly this)

On the other I’ve only been teaching for 3.5 years and I’m 6 months into my 5 year doctorate so the imposter syndrome is there
