Grand Valley High School will be closed Tuesday (2/26) due to a water line break. We plan to resume classes on Wednesday. This does not effect other schools.
The evacuation drill at BUE resulted in finding some technical glitches in the alarm system. There is no fire and all students are well and accounted for. The fire department and staff are are working to discover what the problems are with the system and repairing the issue.
Bea Underwood Elementary is hosting a Grandparent Breakfast on September 7th. We do need an RSVP and parent permission for those attending.
We'll be serving muffins, applesauce, juice, and milk at 7:30am. Grandparents are invited to stay for their class CREW. CREW ends at 8:05am
We are happy to announce the Garfield 16 School District Board and administration have approved the use of general fund money to purchase school supplies for students in preschool through eighth grade. CFL, BUE, and GVMS will be provided school supplies again this year.
CFL Parents! Check your child's backpack tonight for the Online Learning paper. This wonderful new opportunity to strengthen literacy skills over the summer is open to all Kindergarten and 1st grade students currently attending CFL.

Each year Girl Scout troops are encouraged to pick a group to donate cookies to; it is called Hometown Heroes. If a customer doesn't want cookies, scouts ask if they’d like to donate. This year they chose Garfield 16 teachers! Thank you troop 10476 for giving all of us cookies!

The 4th/5th-grade are planning a camping trip. We have been studying Colorado History. We are having a silent auction to help raise money so students can attend without any cost. Please join us on 4/19 for our program, silent auction and culminating event, "Trading at the Fort".
After checking road conditions and the potential of another storm moving in, Garfield County School District 16 has made the decision to declare today Friday, Feb 23rd a snow day. As a reminder, Parent Teacher Confeences begin on Monday.
