Can't believe this still has to be debated in 2026, but here we go.
The name has always been Muqdisho, from the earliest sources till the present day. I have lined up 4 Arabic sources below, 2 from manuscripts and 2 from scans, all can be read as Maqdishu/Maqdisho. In the second image, I have included other non-arabic foreign variations from external sources:
1. Starting with the Chinese Fei-Hsin (15thc.) which calls Muqdisho "Mu-Ku-Tu-Chu"
2. The Ge'ez chronicle Meshafe Milad (15thc.) which calls Muqdisho "Meqdush"
3. Leo Africanus (16thc.) which calls Muqdisho "Magadazo"
4. Thomas Roe (17th) which calls Muqdisho "Magadoxo," which is the most common appellation seen in pre-colonial European texts, it originated from Vasco de Gama, who was the first to see it. Here’s a fact you probably don’t know; people tend to pronounce “Magadoxo” with an English “x”, but in Portuguese, especially in older texts, the letter “x” was often pronounced “sh”, meaning it would have been pronounced roughly as “Magadosho.”
I have never understood how there could even be a debate about this, the suffix is almost the same in every foreign source. The fact that this Persian theory is still being repeated by revisionists more than fifty years after the works of Cerulli perfectly showcases the failure of Somali scholarship, something so weak, that can be easily disproven, still remains largely unchallenged.
If you're not familiar with it, the theory basically rests on a Persian dynasty that Enrico Cerulli calls the Muzaffarids which supposedly ruled Xamar, and which I have debunked in another older thread, as well as the Kilwa Chronicle, which I have also touched on in a previous thread and plan on covering in more detail later. According to this, the name of the city comes from "Maq'ad-i Shah", meaning seat of the Shah in Persian, and as I have shown, the -ah suffix does not appear in the oldest sources, when the city was supposedly still Persian.
Regardless, both arguments are easily refutable, so this etymology is essentially baseless and lacks any real foundation. Somalis have always called it Muqdisho, and the various older foreign appellations were obviously derived variations of that name.
A quick search in Google books will give you many books still pushing the Persian theory, but only 2 that merely suggest it came from the native Somali Muuq-Disho, which is literally how Somalis call it. I don't think Somalis realize how crazy it is that people still refer to 20th century orientalists for Somali history. It's truly very shameful.
"The Kikuyu is the slave of custom. He admits that he is the weaker, and must adopt the white man's ways, be they good or bad. All he asks is to be made clearly to understand what the white man's customs really are. He will then mechanically conform, because it is his essential nature to do so."

This person is not Somali. His origins trace back to the Oromo ethnic group in Ethiopia. What we are seeing appears to be a carefully staged false flag operation with clear signs of Mossad involvement.
This incident is part of a wider, ongoing campaign targeting Somali communities in the West, especially in the US and Britain, to distract them with racist smears so they can't foil Israel’s plans to secure a foothold in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and divide Somalia.
The Somali diaspora must recognize their own strength and actively resist this Zionist war being waged against them. Meanwhile, Somalia must urgently put its house in order to confront the existential dangers surrounding it.
I am beginning to think women naturally are very dumb beings for real.
How would you expect a rich man, or an athlete for that matter, to be faithful to you?
Like, who the fuck are you that they have to stay faithful to you?
Would you date that man if he wasn’t rich? The only person a rich man owes faithfulness to is the woman that stood behind him when he was still struggling. That’s all.
If you meet a man when he's already rich, forget faithfulness. Just enjoy his money, cook and clean and raise the kids , and let him cheat in peace. That’s it.
Couldn't quote since I'm blocked but may Allah punish these women for fueling the fetish engines of shitinderjheeets. Everyone has told them to stop being online thotties. Now they're upset when someone else is posting their photos?
Employing a thousand young men means a thousand women will likely marry and form a thousand new families.
However, employing a thousand women could leave a thousand young men unemployed, potentially leading to a thousand women remaining unmarried.
You can't prioritize jobs for a gender that naturally selfish, hoarding money, and doesn’t care about the extinction of their race, country, traditions, religion, and families.
This is what’s contributing to declining birth rates by giving jobs to more women who primarily focus on themselves. You place selfish beings above givers.
