I'm so excited to be connected with so many new followers but I feel like I need to preemptively disappoint you... b/c while I do occasionally tweet about theology, I mostly talk about Dungeons and Dragons, fantasy, and how much I love the Geek community.
So... welcome?!
Ok, HUGE news... I'm getting my PhD!
I got accepted into the Practical Theology and Ethics program at the University of Edinburgh and will be researching the connection between interpretations of Eve and abuse against women in churched families. Cannot wait to start!
In light of the current conversation around women, seminary, @tgc, and @ReformTheoSem I thought I’d reshare this article from all the way back in 2017.
Seminary is for everyone and everyone should be welcomed there.

@LauraRbnsn It might be worth mentioning that these are also kids raised on active shooter drills in school… I don’t think we fully understand the emotional impact of that day-to-day anxiety, especially how it connects with kids being comfortable being left alone at home.
My apparently hot take: Christmas should begin whenever your heart and your family need it to.
You have no idea what someone is going through so be gracious and if you can’t support them, then at the very least, leave them alone.
An apparently hot take: Christmas should expand into January, not drift back into November
Put down the mistletoe and enjoy the rest of apple season, you freaks!
I've gotten some puzzling pushback here.
Kirk shared his politics everywhere. He shared the gospel on occasion. TPUSA events are about politics. So he only "shared the gospel everywhere" if they're the same thing.
Besides, Burk's crowd has conflated politics and gospel before.
I got new glasses… my son just said, “Mom, you look like a librarian that could give the best book suggestions but also round kick your face.”
People. That’s one of the greatest things anyone has ever said about me, lol.
I'm increasingly convinced that part of what's going on right now is that some people think we're living the story of the Little Red Hen, and some people think we're in the parable of the Good Samaritan.
And the two stories are pretty much diametrically opposed.
In light of the govt's attempt to persuade women to have more babies (and the evangelical church's support of that), a reminder that I wrote a book about God's *actual* purpose for women... spoiler alert, it's not about being wives or having babies.

Me to my teenage daughter: Aren’t you cold??? It’s freezing out!
Daughter: It’s not cold, Mom, I’m fine.
Daughter, 10 minutes later as she grabs a sweatshirt : Spite it not as warm as it should be!!!!
😂😂😂

The greatest lie evangelicals ever told women was that they were created to be wives and mothers. The second greatest lie? That they should be grateful for it.
