Happy to announce the publication of Thomas Holcroft's Revolutionary Drama: Reception and Afterlives (Bucknell UP). Discusses not only Holcroft, but also the 1794 Treason Trials, the birth of melodrama, the afterlives of the Georgian theatre and more.
@Godwin_lives @rt_1789 @18common I know of the translation of Holcroft's novel Hugh Trevor, which was reviewed in La Decade Philosophique (L'An 7), but have found no translation of Anna St. Ives. Wish I knew more.
What a ride! 🙌
Thank you to everyone who supported me since day 1 of this journey: my parents, my husband, my coach and my team. Without you, this would not have been possible at all. I love you all so much #TeamOJ 🇹🇳❤️
@maryvpeace My first academic conference as a new PhD student was in Groningen, on women's writing, co-organized with Hallam. There was a large contingent from SHU (I remember you there, Mary) and the energy and collegiality was a model for me as I sought my way forward. So sad to hear this.
