@euancx @ChrisPLavelle @langoo@PSOSGreaterGlas@GarnethillMCC Unfortunately, it’s not the minority. If you stand at any point along this stretch for 10 minutes you will see what I mean. The space doesn’t work as it is. Everyone deserves to feel safe. Whether they are on foot or bike. Sorry we don’t suit your narrative, we are NOT anti bike!
Out and about with @PSOSGreaterGlas and @GarnethillMCC taking direct action against the speeding cyclists on Sauchiehall St. First steps towards a cycle-free pedestrian precinct & a safer environment for all #partnerships
@euancx@langoo@PSOSGreaterGlas@GarnethillMCC Absolutely not! Just pointing out dangers to pedestrians, we witnessed loads of people tripping on these. Cyclists unlikely to be in the middle section as lots of different levels. Sorry for any confusion 😊
@euancx@langoo@PSOSGreaterGlas@GarnethillMCC We genuinely don’t want to exclude anyone. I wouldn’t have believed it was so bad before going and standing in one area for 40 minute- really gave me a fresh perspective. Any other ideas? Something needs done…photos of paving on central section
@langoo@euancx@PSOSGreaterGlas@GarnethillMCC We are definitely NOT against bikes or cyclists - quite the opposite! We would like to see this stretch cyclist free until such times as a refurb takes place which provides a safe space for all. At the moment, lots of our older residents are staying at home because of this
@HebahMohamad1@PSOSGreaterGlas@GarnethillMCC This isn’t true. We are working on a completely separate issue. You haven’t ever attended a cc meeting, I’m wondering if you’ve been misinformed? You are very welcome at our next meeting on Monday 11th September at 7 in GMC, or you can read our minutes in GMC for accurate info 😊
