@ellabrockway Not sure if you're the person to go to for this, but Freeman plays for Villareal's A team. He's made 9 appearances for the senior team since his move there in January with no appearances for the B team
@stillnotkevind1@jdotwhitt@InspiredByJM True, but that first round will be easier. If the US finishes 2nd in our group this year we'll most likely get egypt or iran R32. We finished 2nd in our group last year and got the netherlands, two different levels of teams. Agree that progress isn't neccesarily linear
@stillnotkevind1@jdotwhitt@InspiredByJM I mean, they've made R16 in their last 3 world cups and should be getting better compared to their peers as more academies bear fruit. That combined with the women's game becoming more competitive will probably make the results closer between the two teams over time, not same obv
@stillnotkevind1@jdotwhitt@InspiredByJM Ok, but the union is fighting for the current players, not players that are currently in elementary school. And I'd guess that over the next three world cups that the USMNT makes the round of 16 more often than the USWNT wins the world cup (would love to be proven wrong!)
@stillnotkevind1@jdotwhitt@InspiredByJM Listen, I'd love for this to be wrong as a USWNT fan, but if you think there will be a point in the next 10 years (which is all that matters to the players because they'll be gone by then) that winning the WWC will earn more than a R16 finish in the MWC, then idk what to tell you
@stillnotkevind1@jdotwhitt@InspiredByJM Yeah, and the men's game still pays out more prize money despite that. Fair or not, the men didn't have to pool their prize money with the women, but they did so with no real pushback despite knowing they'd lose money by doing so
@vitrawrites@leviteight@JoestarJokic Missing 485 games over the course of a career isn't bad luck at one point. His body just can't handle the rigors of 82 games of NBA basketball through no fault of his own. Not uncommon for dudes his size
@GregGumby@Blue2Ballers@_RealSeb@ErikSlater_@canonnz_ I'd prefer it to be no one at all, but sure, I'd rather have 2-3 teams blow it up than watching six teams go into the season explicitly trying to lose and four more teams joining them at the deadline
@GregGumby@Blue2Ballers@_RealSeb@ErikSlater_@canonnz_ Sure they would! What would have been the incentive for them to win those last two months? Even going from 12th worst to 8th worst boosts your odds in the old system, so why try to win?
@GregGumby@Blue2Ballers@_RealSeb@ErikSlater_@canonnz_ It was always going to be more than 2-3 under the old rules. Having the 5th best odds is better than having the 10th best odds and teams were going to act accordingly sooner or later
