@Taylorfinger I try to always have an area in the classroom where they can access all manipulatives, games, and any other extension activities so they always have options and different ways to practice.

A5: It works really well and I am able to access it quickly and easily to revisit goals or what was discussed the last time we met. But I’m sure there is a way to do it electronically, I just haven’t found it yet.

@Taylorfinger I do a MATH menu each week. M=math fluency, A=WrAck your brain word problems, T=tenmarks, H=Hands On. They can when they complete each one but know they have to be done by Friday.

A4: I have been utilizing mastery connect a lot this year. I can see how my kids are progressing with a specific standard. I use it as formative & summative assessments. It helps create my guided math groups for me too. #mdgchat17

A3: I am proud of the way I have been able to make fast facts/fluency an essential part of math instruction every day. My students are becoming fluent with multiplication fast facts that are often a struggle in 4th grade. I had 17 out of 22 pass the test last week!

This link is for the activity I use. Students create a picture using sticky notes. Each note is 1 sq cm. After they create the picture they calculate both area & perimeter.

My favorite standard in measurement is 4.MDA.3 Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles.
