@MortyMark@ShakeLS What facts? The fact is they don’t actually personally own the crown estate or its profits (your own graphic says so) any more than the chancellor personally owns the income from our taxes.
How are you coping with that?
@MortyMark@ShakeLS And even the charities and causes they go slightly out of their way to promote rarely if ever see any monetary benefit, which wouldn’t suggest the wider economy does either.
@MortyMark@ShakeLS There’s nothing either that definitely calculates or proves they add anything to the economy from tourism, branding and trade above what the UK would bring in without the RF.
Slapping their brand on things that were going to sell anyway doesn’t make the profits theirs to claim
@MortyMark@ShakeLS *The assets of the Crown Estate are not the sovereign’s private estate. They are part of the hereditary possessions of the Sovereign ‘in right of the crown’.
@ReadabookCG@ApexMetal@flying_rodent Doubt anyone actually told him to take it down just wants to flaunt his ‘patriotism’. He should take that ‘lest we forget’ flag down though as he’a making a mockery of it, it’s supposed to be a reminder of the horror of the war and never to repeat it, not celebrate and glorify it
@BenGoldsmith@kentish_made Can anyone with no power apply to have pomp and ceremony invested into them?
Also the RF have a lot of power - can and do influence laws before they are made and exempt themselves at will, and technically have sweeping powers they elect not to use but could at any point
Je n’autoriserai plus jamais d’être victime de diffamation et diabolisation des personnes queers et de ma personne. Si répondre par l’amour ne fonctionne pas avec certains, alors par la justice devrait fonctionner. See you in court.
@silkennart@labour2702@thhamilton If anything wasn’t it young people who made the sacrifice to shield the old and vulnerable? Should the ‘elders’ be made to do National Service instead to thank us for our sacrifice?
