A minimalist tutorial on quickly building an automatic tweeting agent with ShellAgent

Previously, I wrote a tutorial on creating an X Agent. In that guide, a simple bot built with ShellAgent was deployed on X. Users could reply to the bot’s account, and it would fetch their Twitter handle, grab their profile and recent tweets, then analyze and return a BNBCard-style personalized card.

But the capabilities of X Agents on ShellAgent go far beyond that. One extremely practical feature is scheduled tweeting. The tweet content can be auto-generated by scraping data sources like Google Search, Twitter Search, web crawlers, etc., and then creatively transformed by an LLM into useful or entertaining posts—turning the bot into a truly personalized persona.

For example, I added a scheduled tweet feature to my previous BNBCard Agent. It now tweets every 3 hours. The bot searches the last 5 tweets of Binance’s two iconic figures—CZ and Yi He—then uses meme coin virality logic as few-shot prompts to guide the LLM to generate serious-sounding predictions. The predictions are turned into HTML and rendered as images in real-time.

To enable this scheduled feature, I simply created a new `Post_tweet` state node, and connected it to the `Ready` node with a trigger line. The line represents the trigger logic. Here’s how I configured it:

- Declare a `timer` task.
- Choose any start time and time zone you prefer.
- Set the repeat cycle according to your desired posting frequency (no less than 1 hour). Note that it’s not guaranteed to be precisely timed. I set mine to 3 hours.
- For end time, I picked “Never” because I want the bot to tweet indefinitely. You can configure this to suit your own bot goals.

Click 'Run' to test and see how it executes.

1. Twitter Search: Get the latest 5 tweets from CZ’s X account (`cz_binance`)
2. Twitter Search: Get the latest 5 tweets from Yi He’s X account (`heyibinance`)
3. Use Claude (LLM) to analyze their tweets and extract clues, referencing a set of meme-based few-shot examples

4. Convert the prediction result into HTML and render it as an image

That’s it—just like that, the X Agent is upgraded with a scheduled tweeting function. Super fast, right? Give it a try!

Also, the new ShellAgent v0.0.3 just dropped with tons of upgraded features, templates, and useful components. MyShell has officially lowered the barrier to Agent creation. It's time to go all in on Agents.
