What most people know:
- why they hate their job
What some people know:
- what they want to do instead
What most people don’t know:
- what they’re capable of doing
⬆️The hidden piece that unlocks it all⬆️
If you’re feeling unfulfilled, disconnected or uninspired in your career…
A 2 week holiday, getting drunk on the weekend and complaining to anyone that will listen won’t make it better.
We all have an inner voice that tells us we can do more and be more.
However, those that succeed have an inner voice that shouts so loud and so consistently, it can’t be ignored.
At 22, I started my career and wanted to earn money for independence.
At 27, I earned a lot and indulged in cars, clothes and holidays.
At 34, I’m focused on building the life that I actually want. Not one that looks good to everyone else.
What are you doing right now?
I used to feel so proud to be able to
Buy a swanky suit I didn’t care for,
To impress people I didn’t respect,
In a career that I hated.
WOW 😳
When you put it like that…
Your goals and dreams should evolve as you do.
What you were striving for 5 years ago is unlikely to satisfy you today.
That’s okay.
Just be courageous enough to reevaluate.
And take action.
2017 was the lowest I’ve been mentally.
It was also the year I
🔺earned the most money
🔺purchased my nicest car
🔺went on holiday 5 times
🔺had a six pack
Make sure you focus on the internal not just the external.
Serious about changing career in 2023?
Consider the following:
1.What are your strengths
2.What’s most important to you
3.What new skills do you want to develop
4.What have you loved and hated in your career
5.Which industries interest you
6.Any specific training needed
Thoughts —> Emotions —>Actions —> Your Reality.
Be intentional with what your mind consumes.
What you read, watch and listen to. The people you interact with.
These have the biggest impact on your thoughts.
We tend to take holidays to break the monotony of our working lives.
Here’s a cheaper and more accessible alternative:
Do things that take you out of your comfort zone
Biggest Career Success Myth:
Work Smart not Hard
Working smart means:
- working hard
- being time efficient
- developing processes and systems
- building relationships
- understanding your weaknesses
- developing your strengths
Don’t let a catchy line fuck up your career
In 2018 I took BIG action that paved the way for a completely new life.
- took a solo trip to Seville
- ended a relationship
- sold my car
- refinanced a property
- quit my job
- booked non-refundable travel around Asia for 6 months
Will you take BIG action this year?
@PureGym Okay so we should bring 2 towels. One to wipe our sweat and another to spray and wipe equipment with. Never seen this in any gym ever but will note going forward.
@PureGym is it a policy that you can only have ONE sanitising spray and roll of tissue for the whole gym?
That’s what I’ve been told at my local gym but post covid this seems really odd. And lots of equipment doesn’t get wiped as a result
@PureGym Seems really odd to reduce the hygiene standards. One sanitising spray for the entire gym means most equipment isn’t wiped down after or before use
What truly motivated you 5 years ago will be different today.
Your career should align with that.
Are you and your career aligned?
