@TheMaineWonk If you're a Russian asset doing your best to harm America this is a serious flex.
Mistaking open and proud malevolence for simple ignorance is a luxury we really can't afford anymore.
@DanielCarver1@ManageYourIm@Osinttechnical On the other hand when they're dealing with an unrepentant people like the Muscovites (who've been imposing themselves on others for centuries and apparently haven't yet learned better) then preventing them leaving also prevents their return, which is a core benefit for everyone.
@SenWarren To be fair Trump has used the presidency to do really well by himself plus most of his immediate family and all of them qualify as either native born or naturalized Americans.
So one down and a hundred and thirty some million families to go. It's a start. ๐
@DakdaR22 Pavel speaks exceptionally well, but his actions are as hesitant as all the other western politicians. When, if ever, will any nation finally commit troops to aid Ukraine seek a fair and lasting peace?
@RpsAgainstTrump Why would Trump post about Normandy on Donald's Day? The video just shows his followers how much he appreciates their adoration and his happiness with their honoring him with a special day just for his first initial. ๐
@Tendar United behind the odd notion that Russian civilians shouldn't be bothered by sanctions just because their leaders are pushing murder and genocide against Ukraine but Israeli civilians should be fair game for sanctions and death since their leaders haven't dissolved the country.๐คฎ
@Gerashchenko_en Russia's elites couldn't care less about what happens to the country. No country's elite's fates are tied to that of their homelands anymore.
If they can somehow find a way to personally profit by acting then they will; otherwise we should expect nothing useful from any of them.
@SenAdamSchiff No one is scared of Trump as an individual.
They are all scared of the powerful interests that use Trump as their flag bearer and keep him in power as their proxy.
Anyone up for shifting the focus where it belongs or should we just keep complaining about an aging sick mediocrity?
@CGN8619@Dovydas44444 If that was all you wanted to do you wouldn't.
But never's a long time. If we ever globally mature beyond our nationalist tensions a Bering crossing could be just the centerpiece of an expansive international highway system linking every continent except Australia and Antarctica.
@Dovydas44444 No joint projects at all should be done with Russia by any nation until it's reformed into a civilized state.
Still, crossing the Bering could do a lot to unite the world by connecting every continent except Australia and Antarctica through ground transportation.
Maybe someday.๐
@EastEndJoe Convert the property into a lush, useful wind farm to provide clean energy and serve as a protected space for native plants and wildlife, obviously. ๐
@OJoelsen There's an old Turkish proverb that unfortunately fits really well here: "When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn't become a king. The palace becomes a circus."
@igorsushko A fair warning of potential combat action to allow truckers and staff to abandon their vehicles should be issued and followed up shortly after with Ukrainian drone swarms destroying these Russian tanker trucks as legitimate military targets. That's more than Russia would ever do.
@volcaholic1 Sigh. Makes perfect personal, political and financial sense for maga's corrupt leaders to try to get rid of comprehensive, credible monitoring systems documenting environmental issues that a powerful group of their major supporters have fought for decades to deny exist at all. ๐
@chiky_handlr The real celebrations that count will take place in millions of backyards across the US, not at the circus Trump's made of the National Mall and White House, so no.
America is a democracy of individuals; far beyond any one leader's ambitions and actions to spoil single-handedly.
@Suzierizzo1 Even Rome's worst emperors weren't quite this over the top grandiose.
Many of the "revelers" will be US soldiers, selected and cast to fit lean profiles so they reinforce the event's contrived theme of nationalist success, strength and vitality to celebrate Trump's 80th birthday.
@BarbaraAnnStein@TomJChicago Cognitive tests are covered for most all elderly US patients as part of Medicare's efforts to identify individual problems and build statistical data on population clusters. The tests are to help determine if patients are able to function acceptably, not their intelligence (IQ).
@ChrisDJackson Naah. Biden was light years beyond Trump, but that's not saying much.
He should have announced he wasn't going to run a year earlier and allowed time for the Democrats to have a normal and competitive primary season.
