@TheNzRocketeer@OpinionistNZ Iโm affected by this, my parents immigrated from the uk in 1963, I was 3.
Iโve grown up schooled, worked and lived and voted as a citizen ( permanent resident) for 66 years. I certainly wonโt be paying the cit fee of $500 to vote centre right. Iโll just cheer from the sidelines.
Is a loving, long term defacto relationship not in essence the same as a marriage?
Then why treat me as a second class citizen in my home of 63 years.
The last person to treat me as a second class citizen was Jacinda Ardern. Looking good NZ first.
New Zealand First will restore the basic democratic principle that the
right to decide New Zealandโs future belongs to New Zealand citizens.
Voting in general elections should be reserved for those who have made
the full legal and civic commitment to this country.
Permanent residence gives people the right to live, work, study, and
build a life in New Zealand. Citizenship is different.
Citizenship is the formal bond of allegiance, belonging, responsibility,
and democratic authority.
New Zealand First believes that distinction should matter again.
@nzfirst I immigrated to Nz in 1963 when I was 3 years old.
Iโm not a citizen but a permanent NZ resident for 63 years. Interestingly I voted NZ first. What a dilemma for me to now be treated as second class in my home. I donโt want to pay $500 to be able to vote NZ first.
@Strange_G Geez Gilda, I donโt know you can watch those muppets.
Since the โ single source of truthโ announcement Iโve watched them 4 or 5 times tops and then start to break out in hives ๐๐๐๐๐
