@TomDove11 ๐ I do like his sense of humour at times, calling it Pravda - I think that means โtruthโ in Russian, and was the name of the Soviet Union controlled newspaper, before the collapse of communism
@angling_dreams Iโm not really sure why it is any better or worse to lift them out of the water at certain times of the year compared to others - almost makes it worth posting a trout photo on a daily basis if it upsets them that much!
I donโt think I will ever tire of photographing wildlife, so fascinating to watch! Saw this same elephant several times during my stay at Murchison Falls, Uganda, with @WildFrontiers96 and managed to get very close to it and snap hundreds of photos.
@tumblerow@WildFrontiers96 Iโve never tried it - although can imagine it would be as other similar species are (peacock bass for instance), but usually the small ones.
A dream achieved! Iโve always wanted to catch a big Nile perch and managed it during a trip to Murchison Falls, Uganda with @WildFrontiers96 when I landed this one of 98lb 8oz. Amazing place, people and wildlife, and Iโd highly recommend Wild Frontiers to anyone going to Uganda
@DazzlerGarner@WildFrontiers96 I took all my own tackle - Iโm not sure if it is possible to hire it out there. Definitely need heavy rods but my old Shimano Big Baitrunners were perfect, loaded with 40lb mono or 70kg Power Pro. Uptider or catfish rods are ideal - I caught this on a Catfish Pro travel rod
@DazzlerGarner@WildFrontiers96 Thatโs fine - I did have a boat to myself, plus you get charged for being in the National park everyday (included in the trip). Not a cheap trip but worth it, and the river isnโt packed with anglers - plus the wildlife you get to see whilst fishing is amazing, as is the place.
@DazzlerGarner@WildFrontiers96 I think I paid around $7,800 for 13 days fishing and everything else (depends which lodge you stay at though - I was at Red Chillis which was great and quite cheap), plus the flight from the UK (that was around ยฃ2k for a business return to Entebbe from London, with KLM)
@camojoe62@WildFrontiers96 Well worth doing - I dealt with Rachel @WildFrontiers96 who was brilliant. I canโt wait to go back and am already looking at dates for next year!
@jimfosterfish @WildFrontiers96 The company I went with - theyโve been doing trips (fishing, safari etc) in Uganda for many years and the owner is a mad keen angler himself - were brilliant throughout in doing everything possible to try and make the trip happen
Lovely view this evening from @hotelnumber5ug in Entebbe, Uganda, with the sun setting over Lake Victoria. On my way home from a memorable fishing trip - although was cut 7 days short due to the idiotic UK govt deciding to add Uganda to the red list! I will be back though!
This one is going to be an amazing film. Two of the very best go head to head and they talk you through all of their thoughts and decisions along the way.
