@getm0ney Nah, I don’t think so. The scam is from the hype cycles being pushed heavily recently by crypto bros and scalpers I’d say.
Vintage is and always will be, the gold hold.
This Redditor shared his UPC pulls for the 30th anniversary. It’s safe to say Charizard and Lugia are going to end up $30 cards soon. #pokemontcg#30thCELEBRATION
I’ve got the scalpers, crypto bros, and finance bros mad at me like I’m personally responsible for their “investments” taking a weekly nosedive. Pokémon is finally doing right by actual collectors by pushing back against artificial scarcity with massive reprints. Maybe the hobby can be about collecting again, not treating every card like a stock.

@asoftpillow4u@slabrehab True. The holders will make the market once again, especially if everyone is holding. However, the reprint news has already dropped the prices of several ETB and booster box prices.
@velvetinc I apologize mate, this post got a bit out of hand and I was trying to respond to everyone.
Didn’t mean to come off rude. I am glad you do it for the joy of opening those packs. It’s what it’s always been about.
@TheCorreccttor@BakedLiger@GoonerQuant The MSRP of the UPC is not $400. It is $179.
Retail is currently hovering $249.
Anything else is scalped prices.
This is a non sustainable price, and with the massive print runs coming, I guess we shall see. It will definitely come lower in my opinion.
There’s a 10% chance now of pulling this specific Lugia form the UPC.
When you combine the dedicated special pack odds (10%) with the raw mathematical chances across the other 29 standard booster packs included in the box, Polygon notes that collectors have a cumulative ~20% overall chance of pulling a Lugia per UPC box
Please sir. No need for name calling especially when you don’t understand the data.
