Federal debt held by the public is 101% of GDP today. The CBO projects that it hits 120% by 2036 and 175% by 2056, levels the US has never seen, even right after WWII.

Been saying this for years. The national debt is out of control. Debt payments are rising. Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are headed towards insolvency. The population is aging, and we've seen a drop-off in the number of children being born. Everything will seem fine, and all of a sudden a crisis will be upon us. Nothing will change until then.
