Well, Walter Cronkite is legendary at CBS News, as well. Super oratory skills, etc., but under the surface he was what he was:

Cronkite, w/ CBS approval, secretly bugged a Republican committee room at the 1952 Republican Natl Convention. . . so he could learn more about the fight between Ohio Sen. Robert Taft and Dwight Eisenhower for the Republican presidential nomination.

"learn more" means, being better prepared to shape the news - the agenda.

Trump - the Defense Dept - officially offered the NG to Browser. It is her responsibility to officially request their deployment - she did not.
Testimonies, IG reports, the Defense Dept report, etc, clearly spelled out that Pres Trump asked his team in an Oval Office meeting (Jan 4th?) to authorize up to 10-20,000 National Guard troops for Jan 6th. But, in DC, either the Mayor or the Capitol Police (Pelosi is lead) had to officially then request them. No response from the Capitol, but Mayor Bowser, in writing, turned them down.

At the time CA/LAC said it would take 3 yrs to pull that off. Didn't happen by 2020 election - none were removed. Then they sent them all out - unsolicited mail-in-ballots. Nursing homes, apartment bldgs, etc., received boxes full of unsolicited ballots. You think they all just got thrown in the trash?

1 wk after Speaker Pelosi said she didn't have an issue w/people tearing down statues, 49 officers were injured; 18 went to hospital while trying to protect the Columbus statue in Chicago.
Except for local news - MSM was silent.
