A separate feed for my personal projects - work on the Austin and Mini, my motorcycles, bicycle restorations, RC car adventures and my Warhammer model painting.
It has taken a week of hobby evenings but the Rune board has really come out well. The folding action works to protect the board's details and the terrain pieces add feeling and depth. Very happy 😁
@kampari_5 Sorry pon, could I ask what model or frame this is? Was it built with the downtube shifters and lugs or is it something you modified? It looks beautiful, great to see it getting used.
Been a while since I painted a Stormcast but I love these sculpts. First of 3 to try and dial in a colour scheme, but I am quite happy how the blue armour came out. The blue, gold and "bone" seem to sit well together and the crimson pops.
Doing 2 more might be a struggle! 🤣
The first ride out since my surgery: I can feel that I have been stationary for too long!🤣
After 2 weeks of intense heat the trails are loose, dusty and fast - the Mezcals are still excellent and the frame geometry feels just right, precise, stable and fast!
Shame I am not 🤣
Working from the templates I managed to stitch up 2 bags! 🤣 first time sewing anything in about 25 years? Kinda happy with the results. Now I've got to wax everything to add some home made water resistance.
I want to do some long distance cycle events once I am recovered from my surgery - something I miss is extra storage space. Following the info from https://t.co/UxGawb5b1h I tried to design some frame bags and quickly prototyped them out in card. Pretty happy! Can I make them? 🤣
I added some scribble text to the book for depth too. The "striped" shading on her hat looks neat, I might have to work that way again.
Together the girls look great for a weeks work, I am recovered and back working again from next week - things will slow down again from here.
Magical student Nino is complete! Another great sculpt from @saMghaaraama - full of motion and fine detail. I might have to rework the front of her cape but at table distance she looks great.
Assembly and build images are on my earlier post.
Next is "Magical student Nino" from @saMghaaraama . Nino is still packed, so I thought to show the build this time.
Packed in a nice box, it contains a thanks and QR instructions, base and kit in a baggy. I swap to larger curved bases for a bit more space.
Last pic from ULTRAZONE
I always spray from a good distance and with light coats - go slow to keep details crisp. I personally prefer Citadel sprays, the stuff just works with the minimum of fuss. I'm interested to see if the "Warhammer" rebrand changes anything technically, or just the name on the can
Trial fitted the pose looks good in its scene. Smaller parts are lightly glued to bamboo skewers for painting before spraying primer. With the others I used Vallejo grey - it sprays well but often remains sticky when thick. Today I fall back on the staple of Citadel chaos black.
Start with my basing boxes for bits to give texture. The models are 3D printed so need a touch of finishing to ensure smooth details. The slots that fit the pieces together are often tight, especially once painted so need a little tweaking and a trial fit.
Ruin base complete!
The dancer from @saMghaaraama ULTRAZONE is complete.
Ryuutama is about storytelling, travel and adventure. I thought her dropping her pack at the roadside and dancing to pay the way might make an interesting image.
Her robes and flowing hair were challenging but look fantastic.
