Today, our National Coordinator, Abdou Majid Jallow, alongside volunteer Awa Camara, took the conversation on autism to national television raising awareness, challenging stigma, and advocating for inclusion on World Autism Awareness Day. Together, let’s continue to build.
On World Autism Awareness Day, (GASAN) are calling on families, schools, institutions, government, and our communities to deepen our understanding of autism and create spaces where persons on the spectrum feel accepted, supported, and truly valued. Autism is not a limitation.

We were pleased to receive a visit from representatives of The Gambia Autism Support and Advocacy Network (GASAN), including Abdou Majid Jallow, National Coordinator, Maimuna P. Mendy, Media and Relations Officer, and Jainaba Bittaye, Programs Officer.
During the meeting, we exchanged views on GASAN’s work and discussed potential support for nationwide awareness and advocacy campaigns aimed at promoting understanding, inclusion, and support for individuals with autism across The Gambia.
