Gaskell Scientists

To give children opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of the world they live in through pupil led investigations.

Welcome to the official Twitter page for all things Science at Gaskell Primary School!

Mr Fogg is extremely excited to show off the amazing opportunities we give to the children here at Gaskell.

Year 5 have been dissecting a flower in Science as part of their recapping of Year 4 learning. @GaskellScience @GaskellPrimary

Year 6 have been using mirrors to reflect light 💡 @GaskellPrimary @GaskellScience

[Gaskell Key Stage 1 @Gaskell_KS1]

1R have been looking at different types of animals. 🐶🐰🦎🐟@GaskellScience

[Gaskell Lower Key Stage 2 @Gaskell_LKS2]

4C and 4H have been learning about changing states. We have been melting chocolate to see what happens when a solid is heated. @GaskellPrimary @GaskellScience

Today, year 6 investigated how light travels 💡 @GaskellPrimary @GaskellScience

[Gaskell Lower Key Stage 2 @Gaskell_LKS2]

4C have been exploring our local environment in science to see what living organisms we can find. @GaskellPrimary @GaskellScience

5S have loved meeting and (some of us) holding the exotic animals as part of Science Week. @GaskellScience @GaskellPrimary

[Gaskell Lower Key Stage 2 @Gaskell_LKS2]

Class 4H are exploring the pitch @GaskellPrimary @GaskellScience

Year 5 have been creating their own solar system, including interesting facts around their planets to finish their topic of Space, in Science. We are very proud of what we have created! @GaskellScience @GaskellPrimary

[Gaskell Lower Key Stage 2 @Gaskell_LKS2]

Year 4 have been investigating volume and distance today! 🥁👏🏼 @GaskellPrimary @GaskellScience

[Gaskell Primary School @GaskellPrimary]

We met some more reptile friends 🐢 @GaskellScience

[Gaskell Primary School @GaskellPrimary]

We loved meeting the tortoise today 🐢 @GaskellScience

3M loved meeting the animals @Gaskell_LKS2 @GaskellPrimary

[UKS2 Gaskell Primary School @UKS2_Gaskell]

5S have been creating acronyms to help us remember the order of the planets, then created a mini solar system, carefully measuring the distance each planet sits, away from the sun. @GaskellPrimary @GaskellScience @GaskellMaths

Year 5 have been recapping their previous learning in Science, focussing on key vocabulary and knowledge of the different seasons and weather types. @GaskellPrimary @GaskellScience

[UKS2 Gaskell Primary School @UKS2_Gaskell]

Year 5 have made their pulleys in Science to end their last topic of forces @GaskellScience @GaskellPrimary @GaskellDt

[Gaskell EYFS @GaskellEyfs]

In topic, we are learning about the lifecycle of a sunflower! We can't wait to plant our own sunflowers! 🌻
