I had a disaster on the bench @WildWorkshop. First one in a long time. It was just about completed. So discouraging. 😞

Pouring some brush cleaner into my rinse jar when it just departed from my hand and went all over the workbench.

Paint job ruined and it looks like this build will be getting a full reset.

This project was nearly complete. So discouraging.

A big shift from the Panzer Mech. Something more traditional with a restoration of a Matchbox No. 29.

This will getting more attention than Lesney gave it when it was made in the factory. Wild Bill extras. 😉

Rushed for time due to an incoming hurricane Henri. Completed the Panzer Mech before the storm hitting was a priority. I wanted it done and didn't want delays caused by the storm. More images to come as I get a time. Now I need to prepare for the storm.

The Saturday Night Racer.

GTO turned into a Saturday night racer. Chopped the A-pillar for a more aggressive roof line. Resin 3d printed wheels with Molotow Liquid Chrome for that super lb reflectivity. Custom interior with roll cage. Even added some chrome exhaust tips.

Love this colorshift paint transition from antique gold to black. The angles on the Lamborghini just accentuate what the paint is capable of.

I printed the racing wheels on my 3D resin printer. I'm quite pleased with the outcome.

Pro Tip: Save your resin print supports! They make great industrial debris bits for sci-fi miniatures bases, dioramas, post apocalyptic builds, and much more.

Cure them. Bag them. Use them to raise the level of detail.

Made the mistake last year of not preparing for the cold weather. Resin printing doesn't like the cold and the workshop isn't exactly what I would call warm in the winter months.
If your situation is like mine print your customs bits. Winter is coming.

It gets too cold in my workshop to 3D resin print in the winter. That has me creating a stockpile of wheels to make sure I won't run out.

Best tools I've ever bought for my diecast customs hobby life? Hands down... my 3D printers.

Vallejo German Grey (70.995) on the tires and a careful application of Molotow Liquid Chrome using a magnifying glass.
The German Grey is a slightly off black color that a tire gets after driving around the track. If you're looking for a more realistic worn look, give it a try.

3d Resin printing up some wheels and I'm torn between traditional matchbox or a custom look. The traditional slips over the original rim, while the custom is a complete replacement.

Can't make up my mind... what do you think?

I've had a filament and resin 3d printers for some time. Best tools I've ever purchased since I started this hobby back in the 1980s.

Back then, I couldn't imagine doing stuff like this with little cars. It is really cool how the hobby and my skills have evolved over the years.
