Samuel Monroe Jr., best known for his memorable roles in Menace II Society, Tales from the Hood, Set It Off, and The Players Club, has sadly passed away at the age of 52.

Throughout his career, Samuel became a familiar face in many popular films and television shows, leaving a lasting impression on fans of ’90s Black cinema.

His performances and contributions to film will continue to be remembered by generations of fans.

Sad news today. Actor Samuel Monroe Jr. has passed away, according to a Facebook post from his mother, Joyce Patton, who thanked everyone who had been praying for her son and asked that prayers continue for his family, especially his three children.

Samuel was known for Menace II Society, Tales from the Hood, Set It Off and The Players Club.

My sincere condolences to Ms. Patton, his children, family, friends and everyone who knew and loved Samuel. Sending good energy and prayers during this very difficult time. 🙏
