Daily life at #HarcourtArboretum: connecting with communities, promoting wellbeing, and celebrating trees (plus, probably, a few peacocks!)

[Gateway2Nature @Gateway2Nature]

The skies may have been grey, but the weather didn't dampen the mood in South Abingdon today! Enjoyed meeting lots of different people at @OxonPlay's Play Day, planting & showing off seeds. Next up: Cutteslowe later in the month...

We've had the pleasure of welcoming Devante to #HarcourtArboretum a couple of times and hope to welcome some of the groups he organises soon. In the meantime, wishing him and his team lots of luck and fine weather!

Next week, Devante, our Community Engagement Worker will be taking on the #3PeaksChallenge to raise money for the charities that supported him with his #SightLoss.
You can support Devante and select us as your charity to donate to here: https://t.co/53Lg3sw4Jl

Your challenge for summer is to notice at least 1 good thing in nature every day. This will create pathways in your brain to help you connect with nature and bring lasting psychological benefits!

Getting ready for our first #TouchTour for Blind & Partially Sighted visitors at @HarcourtArboretum this morning with @GLAMOutreach. The sun is shining; there are interesting handling objects waiting in the Woodland Barn; & the Arboretum is looking, smelling, and sounding great!

[Gateway2Nature @Gateway2Nature]

On the last day of #VolunteersWeek2023: a shout-out to the @GLAMVols volunteers who support our events & community visits, & to the 'Wednesday' volunteers, who have helped with all sorts of practical tasks in the last 10 years 😍
Hope you enjoy this afternoon's tea party @OBGHA!

It was our pleasure to welcome the group, and we're looking forward to the next visit!
