Damn, RIP to another revenue stream ๐ญ
Here in Australia we already donโt have access to the TikTok Creator Rewards Program. Shorts revenue might not make me a fortune, but it absolutely adds up over time.
Iโll keep posting them but this one sucks for โsmaller creatorsโ
YouTube is changing who can earn money from the Shorts Creator Pool.
Starting on February 1, 2027, creators must average 10M qualified Shorts views over the last 90 days to be eligible.
Being a solo content creator is basically trying to do the jobs of an entire team by yourself.
It gets overwhelming FAST when you have no help, and somewhere in there youโre supposed to actually enjoy creating and playing video games, have a life, and avoid burning yourself out ๐ญ
This list is just SOME of the many things I do alone as a creator:
Editing long-form
Editing short-form
Live streaming
Writing scripts
Recording videos
Making thumbnails
Networking
Studying trends & analytics
Running & building a Discord community
Managing emails & pitching to sponsors
Posting across every platform
Replying to comments
Planning new content
Troubleshooting tech
And somehow the list keeps growing ๐
@ripthedodobirds My Logitech G Pro X Superlight damn near never needs charging, I find ๐ Not that I use it as much these days because of my hand injury, but wires annoy me way too much now.
Iโve seen a lot of confusion but, to earn money from shorts, even creators who are currently monetized still need to meet the new requirements every rolling 90 days to get payouts starting in February.
Iโve finally removed โ2Kโ from all my handles. Iโll never be associated with or play NBA 2K again.
So while weโre here, letโs normalise unfollowing creators whose content doesnโt align with you anymore.
If you follow me for me, thatโs f***** awesome and I appreciate you. But if you originally followed for NBA2K and have no interest in what I create now, I have absolutely no hard feelings if you unfollow.
Interests change. Creators change. Audiences change. You donโt owe anyone a follow. ๐ค
@_nick413 Appreciate you bro! Been away from 2K for about 3 years now and itโs definitely been a journey rebuilding and finding my place outside of it ๐ but Iโm happier with the content Iโm making than Iโve been in a long time. We keep pushing ๐
Absolutely! I appreciate anyone who sticks around for me regardless of what Iโm playing! I actually changed my content up 2-3 years ago and havenโt touched 2K since, I just never changed the handles ๐
But I also donโt think someone is any less of a โreal oneโ if my content isnโt for them anymore. Interests change, and thatโs completely okay! ๐ค
