‼️Update

🔹The 40 feet 2 containers they're bringing from China through Alibaba still haven't come.

🔹This was awarded to Chinese company by MNDF Abdulla Shaneen, Captain Ali Shujau and Sergeant Ali Shaam.

🔹They flew to China twice, and brought one of the shipments through air freight when it didn't come.

🔹Then their team also flew to India and Srilanka and paid double the price they paid to China when the Chinese shipment didn't come.

🔹When shipment arrived from Lanka and when they checked, it had a whole lot of different items. But it was never returned.

🔹MNDF took more than 2 million USD from resorts in the last 6 months, but delivered them substandard items and items they didn't order.

🔹The fireworks they brought are also going up to a maximum of 12 feet only and resorts are already complaining.

🔹This is corruption at broad daylight. They are using foreign companies to receive commissions and bringing in substandard products.

MNDF have bought 7.3 million MVR (474,473 USD) worth of fireworks in the the last 30 days, the price heavily inflated. Most of these fireworks are readily available in shops in Europe at 60% cheaper, where anyone can buy & use. I'm told that this is a huge scandal by a few officials in MNDF, which is very damaging for whole MNDF's reputation.

We Maldivians want MNDF to protect our sovereignty, sea borders, stop illegal trafficking etc, not engage in fireworks and parties.

They have monopolised this activity, making it look like it's something only MNDF can do, but in many other countries ordinary citizens and private companies are allowed to do fireworks on their own, buy it from shops. This is a huge business they have taken away from ordinary people and private sector, using "security and safety" as an excuse.

I'm also told MNDF are offering discounts for people related to them. This is a serious allegation. MNDF should disclose all their books immediately. They have been doing this secretly for a long time now. We taxpayers have a right to know what they are doing using their cooperative society as a cover.
