Let’s continue to do the ‘right thing’ in regards to making USA World and Olympic Teams! That’s what separates us from the rest of the World! Earn it! Hoping the USA Wrestling Sports committee continues to believe in the principles and values that has made us what we are today!
These are not my predictions for NCAAs!
Rather, it’s my “wish list” - the guys, if I could waive a magic wand and make it happen, I would -
125: Luke Lilladahl - love the way he competes. Very active. Fun to watch.
133: Lucas Byrd - the ole vet who no one thinks can best the plethora of amazing frosh. Would be a great story to see him win again.
141: Sergio Vega - wrestles just like his coach. And, that’s extremely enjoyable to watch. Also, seems like a really nice, solid kid. And, I very much like that. Vince Cornella a close second, simply because no one talks about him, and he’s a complete hammer.
149: Aiden Valencia - after some freestyle heartbreaks, it would be nice to see him win. Coin flip with Shane Van Ness, who I very much like.
157: Antrell Taylor - the BTN story about him was amazing. I’ll always pull for someone who’s been through what he has. Kannon Webster is actually my favorite guy at this weight, and my “magic wand” could very easily see him on top of the podium.
165: Joey Blaze - older brother who doesn’t get the “press” of his younger sibling. I like pulling for the “underdog” brother in such situations.
174: Levi Haines - my favorite wrestler, any year, any weight.
184: Rocco Welsh - my disdain for the transfer portal is eclipsed only by my PSU bias.
197: Josh Barr - he’s an avid fisherman, and is my second favorite wrestler. Great, attacking style that is fun to watch.
285: Braxton Amos - have known his family a long time. Father Tim is a lawyer, and just an awesome guy. Isaac Trumble is a close second.
Rooting hard for all of them heading into conference weekend.
@TheCradleZone Joe LeBlanc 2012 184 took 7th for Wyoming. Was the 1 seed in a bracket with guys like Quentin Wright, Steve Bosak, Robert Hamlin, and Austin Trotman
