@rossstevens_uk All I’m really trying to say is that Google doesn’t *just* allow EMDs to be effective, YOU must have put some content on the domain that (for now) crawls/parses with substance/quality. EMDs don’t rank, people rank EMDs.
@rossstevens_uk How would you suppose Google go about tampering a 1:1 string match between a search query and a website’s URL? The answer is EEAT, and that IS a ranking factor. Otherwise a website like https://t.co/gbIiubLad4 would rank instead of, well, the real credit unions in your area.
#Samsung NZ titled a video "Tim Cook | Keynote | Samsung."
It’s not #Apple ’s former CEO—just a New Zealand resident who shares his name, reviewing a Fold8.
Note the timing: Samsung waited until Cook stepped down as CEO to pull this.
Practices like this is why our feeds suck.
@DavidGQuaid I write meta descriptions and they show up in search results. Then, I write ‘em a lil better… and they get more impressions and more clicks. All from their *literal* appearance in search… how the hell are metas “meaningless”?
Ive seen it stick with autocomplete. If a marketing campaign drives real searches for something like "Brand + Keyword" > it hits Google's suggested searches > After that, organic users see it and start clicking.
(A bit anecdotal, as I have only had my hands on a few sites this size)
@jrya7 I feel the opposite. I just want my “cool”ideas to come to life— and whoever makes an idea a reality is an owner. I own what i can, but I’d like to think my best ideas are beyond (or at least hindered) by thoughts of “ownership” nowadays.
