Today has been the hottest day in May on record with Kew Gardens provisionally reaching 34.8°C - exceeding the previous highest May temperature in the UK by a full 2 degrees Celsius🌡️
This heat would be exceptional in the UK even in mid summer, let alone in May📈
@NickBryantNY Perhaps it calls for something like this? It doesn't mean people on the staff can't do other work - including 'talent'.

@JamesPearceLFC That's the nice touches of generosity and humility that Joe Gomez will be able to fondly remember with pride and happiness long after he retires. It's great to see in a modern footballer. 👍❤️👌
@JRRadioNI Somehow I picture Ken with the times he read the last local bulletin of the night, between the end of Take it Easy and Jackie's Jazz & Blues.
I saw a wee video he did last month about Downtown's 50th, focusing on the newsroom, which he voiced himself.
I'm glad he did it. 🥀🕊
@JRRadioNI Congratulations to you and all of you, John.
I'm just getting-ready for the biggest show in the half-century in a few minutes' from now.
Amazing achievement. 👌🏼🎂👍🏼
@EamonnMallie@Cairnspolitics Short bulletins were every 20 minutes - 20 minutes' past and 20 minutes to the hour - on weekday mornings and afternoons in the earliest days, eh?!
@RonanGKelly@EDiamond136@DonnaTraynorTV I'm sure I remember you opening your first show after John Kenny's death with what you said was his favourite song - but now can't remember if it was Dolly Parton or Bette Midler. I know you paid him a lovely tribute that day.
Thank you. 🙏
And big love to all my Jewish friends, Muslim friends, Christian friends, Hindu friends, atheist friends, etc.
The UK is a multiracial community that needs to stand together.
Maccabi Tel Aviv are violent hooligans and an obvious risk.
Keep them out.
Sick of the BBC acting as a mouthpiece for Farage and Reform? Us too.
Our national broadcaster should reflect the whole country, not just one man’s ego.
The BBC are constantly fawning over Farage's every move despite Reform only having four MPs. Our national broadcaster should reflect the whole country, not just one man’s ego.
@ThrillaRilla369 We had just three until Channel 4 started on 2 November 1982.
Before that, people with black & white VHF sets had to make do with just two channels as BBC2 was UHF only.
