Went to my first WNBA game, Mercury vs Lynx went down to the wire (84-88).
First thoughts- Speed, aggression, and REAL teamwork blew me away. A few all-stars are technically elite, but the rest play specific roles: shooters who shoot, defenders who defend. No 7-foot Swiss Army knives like the NBA.
The Coaches had to move pieces on a chessboard. Less ISO, fewer 3s, way more passing, which made it a more enjoyable flow than a lot of today’s NBA.
These women were about to throw hands and I was here for every second of it 🔥
