Within days I was throwing in intrasquad games and soon after I was being used out of the bullpen for the last few weeks of the season. I am working out this summer as a pitcher at a local facility near my home here in San Diego.

This past spring I returned to pitching when my school's pitching coach noticed me "pitching" to a friend during warmups and asked me to throw a bullpen. To my surprise I was now throwing much harder, and he told me I had "unicorn-like" Rapsodo numbers.

As a lefty who could always throw strikes, I'd pitched sporadically my whole life. But, since I topped out only 82-83mph in high school, colleges recruited me as a power-hitting lefty OF and that is where I focused my training.
