#MASTERSOFTHEUNIVERSE LIVES ON!!!
Despite being a Box Office Flop I haven’t seen a film THIS universally loved across all social media platforms. 87% on Rotten Tomatoes 🍅, 7.1/10 on IMDB, Closing in on $90M Globally, The Marketing Department is posting more and more, Amazon Executives making statements being satisfied with the film and Director Travis Knight saying he has more ideas for sequels.
The future of the franchise will probably depend on Digital, Physical media and Streaming Numbers BUT it’s a big plus that Amazon is on the side of the film despite the loss at the Box Office. If the film can have a second or third lifespan with its upcoming releases then who knows what will happen.
If they can lower the budget and perhaps make the sequel a Prime Video exclusive the why not give it another shot with the reception it’s getting from fans right now.
Near perfect adaptation of the animated series and we finally have a HE-MAN ⚔️ & SKELETOR 💀 worthy to take the characters forward for more installments.
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: REVELATION + REVOLUTION
The comic tie-in/prequel comics are all being collected in a big hardcover edition this November as well as the entire series itself getting a blu-ray steelbook release next week, June 24!
The show is streaming on Netflix!
I watched an interview with Elba yesterday and he said Travis Knight called him in to meet about He-Man and he was a big fan as a kid so instantly said yes but expected to be offered Skeletor since it's a mask/CG face and he figured they wanted his voice.
When they said Man at Arms, he was like, "The ginger guy? Won't people get mad?" and... No, not really, cause 1) Idris Elba is awesome and we all love him, 2) it didn't feel like a political change so much as one driven by the desire to work with Idris, and 3) nobody cares that much about the lore of Man at Arms.
Referencing Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent seems like a very good analog to me.
In a sense we can chalk both choices up to "rule of cool".
@AmazingPopPod Without a doubt I will be watching it opening night! This film looks incredible and #Supergirl has always been in my top 10 favorite superheroes of all time! Lets go!
@DANIELPEMBERTON This is just the most epic thing ever!!! Everyday I think about how lucky we are to have this film and this absolutely electrifying score! Thank you!
I still can't believe this movie exists. If you were even a partial fan of the 80's toyline or cartoon back in the day, absolutely go see it on the big screen while you can.

Director Travis Knight explains how Queen guitarist Brian May got involved in the ‘MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE’ score.
“When I started talking to [composer] Daniel Pemberton, one of my touchstones was the De Laurentiis Flash Gordon from the 80s... with that iconic score from Queen.”
