Please declare Election Day a federal holiday.

Making it a paid day off would make it easier for working Americans to vote, raise turnout, and treat civic duty with the same seriousness as other national observances.

It would not decide elections. It would make participation more workable.

The holiday would not change who is eligible to vote. It would simply make it easier for eligible voters to cast a ballot without missing work.
