Here is a link to my sweetheart's writing patreon. Their current project is a very fun CYOA story that has a lot of cute girls and general tropeyness, but will probably get depressing later because I know them. Please have a look if at all interested.
@MsFrostFeathers@ruinmeruinus_ Let's be real, second person is a really niche writing style and most people are unlikely to encounter it in fiction. It is sufficiently unpopular that even a lot of people who do know what it is don't like, really understand the basic way it's deployed in a novel.
@ted8ug@aiboufueled@bogwitchbooks Second person in novels is also usually putting you in the mind of a character who isn't yourself, but is doing so in a much more direct and intimate way. First person is like someone is telling you a story, second person invites you to actually imagine yourself as someone else.
My four TTRPG characters:
1. Dubiously-redeemed or otherwise contained monster (it's okay, she's YOUR friend, at least)
2. Adorkable mess (terrible person)
3. Extremely confident force of personality who thinks she's immortal
4. A nice girl who bad things happen to
@lostonabikeOz No, I'm Canadian and using a fork in your right hand is perfectly normal here? If someone tried to tell me I didn't "know how to use a knife and fork" I would just assume it was a bullishit antiquated class marker. "You're in a fancy restaurant but we can tell you're A Poor".
@More_Civilized And, boy, does it ever READ like it's a novel adapted from several episodes of television. It's got some genuinely good moments, and like... without it Ventress just eventually stops showing up and she's not mentioned in the recent last season. (Fuck the ending, though).
@More_Civilized I would recommend Dark Disciple from a completionist perspective. One of the dangling threads when Clone Wars got cancelled was a resolution to Ventress's storyline -- Dark Disciple is directly adapted from the scripts from a cut arc that would have tied off the loose ends there.
@yrgynoidgalpal I like mine quite a . Android UI is like... Just close enough to iOS that switching between the two is a huge pain and trips you up in all kinds of small ways, though.

@TheRiverTrix God. Normally I don't even mind Travis -- THAT made me cringe lower and lower in my seat as it kept going on for, seemingly, a thousand years.
@Composaurus2 Nah, like, 50 Shades is based off of a fanfic that had explicit and non explicit versions. The sex scenes from the book are extraneous because the story was written so that you'd miss nothing by reading the version that skipped them. Seperate issue.

@joshyblogz2 What's confusing about an instant messaging app? It's basically a better Skype that makes it easy to set up communities for text and voice chat.
@base68 That Trump had a 30% chance of winning, significantly higher than many forecasts using different models at the time. 538 repeatedly cautioned against viewing the race as a sure thing for Clinton beforehand. It's like if the weather forecast says "chance of showers", and it rains.
