On a flight from Lagos to Abuja...
The well-dressed man beside me kept glancing at my open Bible.
After takeoff he finally spoke: “I left church 10 years ago.
Life got busy… then painful.”
For the next two hours we talked.
I shared how I hit rock bottom in 2022 and how Jesus met me there.
By the time we landed, tears were rolling down his cheeks.
Right there in seat 12A he gave his life back to Christ.
We exchanged numbers.
Today he’s active in Bible study and even invited me to his rededication service.
Never underestimate a random flight seat.
God can turn 55 minutes of turbulence into a divine appointment that changes someone’s eternity.
@jid_nas@DrJoeAbah@Ibn_Kareem God can die; there is nothing God cannot do. Don't limit God. Death is not the end; it is the beginning of another phase.
When I was an atheist, I remember being so annoyed by Christians and how happy they always were. I was mad that they weren't miserable and angry like me! I thought the Bible was fake, until I had an encounter with Jesus and I realized He was real and so was the Bible. Now I'm in Christ Jesus, and this joy I feel is so real, despite my circumstances. I rest and have peace in GOD! Christianity is not a religion, it's a personal relationship with God. You need the Holy spirit to understand. 🙏🏼
My mother didn't speak to me for three months.
Not after a fight.
After a prayer.
I told her I was raising my kids differently.
No more passive faith.
No more "we're Christian because we say we are."
No more church twice a year and Jesus when it's convenient.
She took it personally.
"What's wrong with how I raised you?"
Everything.
And nothing.
She did her best.
But her best was Sunday mornings and silent dinners.
A Bible on the shelf, never opened.
A father who said grace but never led.
A family that looked Christian in the Christmas photo.
And fell apart behind closed doors.
I didn't want that for my kids.
So I started leading my home.
Family worship on Wednesdays.
Praying with my wife every morning.
Teaching my son what it means to be a man of God—not just a man who goes to church.
My extended family thinks I've lost my mind.
"You've become one of those people."
Holiday dinners are quieter now.
Some aunts don't call anymore.
My brother thinks I'm judging him.
I'm not.
I'm just not pretending anymore.
Jesus said it would be like this.
"I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."
"A man's enemies will be the members of his own household."
I used to read that and think it was metaphor.
It's not.
Following Him cost me the family I was born into.
But it gave me the family I'm building.
Last Wednesday my daughter asked if we could pray for her cousin.
The one whose parents are divorcing.
She folded her hands.
Closed her eyes.
And talked to God like He was listening.
Because in our house, He is.
My mother still doesn't understand.
Maybe she never will.
But my daughter will never wonder if her father loved God.
She'll never guess if faith was real in our home.
She'll know.
Because she watched it.
Every night.
Every prayer.
Every Christ-centered Christ-led ordinary Tuesday.
The family I lost?
They had my past.
The family I'm raising?
They have my future.
And my children's children will know the Lord.
Because someone decided the cycle stops here.
Even if it cost him Thanksgiving dinner.
Even if it cost him his mother's approval.
Some inheritances are worth losing.
So your kids can gain the only one that matters.
I’m thankful that I am not lost in sin and a bastard alienated from Christ
I’m thankful that every morning I wake up, I have use of my legs, my eyes, and basically my body works the way it should
I’m thankful for the amazing husband God has blessed me with
I’m thankful that I have the most precious boy who is growing well and meeting all his milestones
I’m thankful for the family I have . I’ve got the best parents and siblings. I’m happy they know Jesus too.
I’m thankful for the amazing community I have here. So much love, so much support, so much impact
I’m thankful because I know if Jesus comes today, I’ll be going with Him to glory
Happy thanksgiving people.
What are you thankful for??
I hate to leave plates in my sink. In fact I don’t do it. Once we are done eating I wash my dishes.
Two days ago, I made some Nigerian jollof. And what is jollof without burning?
So when I tried to wash my pot, it was so tedious to wash. I was trying to scrape it and all because my mind did not want to allow me leave it in the sink.
I just had to tell myself “Deborah, allow this pot soak”. You’ll come back and it will wash easy.
That was when I left. And the Holyspirit of course started sermon.
He was letting me know how that as children of God, we need to let things soak.
See, soaking takes time. Soaking means leaving that thing and not doing it when you want to. Because as a people, we want it now. We want to do it right away
When you get to a point where that desire is not getting answered immediately, when that relationship you’re pouring everything inside is still not giving you the desired results, let it soak
Leave it at the feet of prayer
Yes you want to get married but you have lost your peace about that person, let it soak.
Leave it at the feet of Jesus and let it stay there.
Just imagine me spending so much time, so
much energy on something that is so hard, scraping and scraping
When I came back shortly , everything just fell off on its own. I barely had to scrub.
Soaking is not wasting time
Soaking is not being idle. On the surface everything looks calm and quiet but beneath the surface, you’re allowing water permeate and work.
Soaking may mean praying on one matter for months untill light comes
Soaking may mean staying on the word you heard in your spirit until light breaks through and revelation drops in your spirit
Soaking may mean waiting to get a word from the Lord before you start that project
Dear child of God, please practice soaking. So much you’re struggling with you don’t need to,If you can just leave it at His feet.
The Family Altar
Make fire available in your home. Teach the Word, Work the Word, Prophesy!
This is the Instruction of the Spirit.
Every home a Living Church!
Please don't die without knowing Jesus!
There is absolutely nothing more important in your life right now than making sure that you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
Father, thank You that I can offer You a sacrifice of praise because You hold victory in store for me. I believe that You’ll get me to where I’m supposed to be. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Don’t miss your greatness because you’re dependent on people approving you. Don’t shrink back and let your dreams die because you’re worried about what they may think, what they may say, or how they may not accept you.
You and I will never have peace in our lives until we learn how to stop trying to figure everything out and how to start trusting God more. #JoyceQuote
