7. Julius Randle vs Wemby

Anthony Edwards is questionable after hyperextending his knee last series, and it’s hard to see him at full strength here.

That opens up a major usage bump for Julius Randle, but this is a tough matchup vs Victor Wembanyama.

Randle has cleared his 20.5 PTS line in just 1/3 H2H this season. He’s primarily a slasher, and Wemby’s paint presence takes that away.

8. Midrange & pull-ups will be key

Best way to attack Wemby = avoid the paint.

Guys like:

could have a strong series if they’re hitting.

9. Who’s guarding Wemby?

Rudy Gobert vs Wemby, elite defense matchup.

We just saw Gobert slow down Nikola Jokic, but Wemby brings a completely different profile with his quickness and agility.

Gobert plays drop coverage, which could leave Wemby open on pops. Jokic had those same looks but didn’t capitalize, if Wemby does, his 2.5+ 3PM at plus money is very interesting.

Also worth noting: Randle has had success defending Wemby, undersized, but strong and quick enough to bother him, definitely an option that we could see here.

10. Where does Gobert go?

That’s the key question.

We could see Gobert on Stephon Castle, similar to how Portland used Clingan last series.

Castle hit 2+ threes in 4/5 games vs that coverage. If Minnesota does the same with Gobert, it could open up clean looks again.

Castle 1.5 3PM at plus money stands out here.
