@DanKelley66 This Varitek stuff is ridiculous. Former great players (Rice and Evans) were let go as hitting coaches in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. The difference was their wives didn’t make a spectacle of it.

@kakejatz @Buster_ESPN @ThePeskyPole Mayer is another bat that’s going to get better. Young guys often have success, then the league adjusts and the good ones adjust again. This offense is terrible right now but I don’t think it will be this bad in July. Add one more bat to this group and it can be good enough.

@kakejatz @Buster_ESPN @ThePeskyPole Anyone who thinks Roman Anthony is a bust after less than two months is clueless. He’ll make the adjustments and hit at a very high level again. Then add one more legit bat through a trade and you have a middle of the pack lineup which is all this team needs.
