NEWS: LSU defensive end Princewill Umanmielen was served with court papers Tuesday related to the Ole Miss' lawsuit against him, according to court records. Umanmielen received the papers in the parking lot outside the LSU football facility on Tuesday, per ESPN sources. https://t.co/sKrCfNmj75
The SEC isn’t kicking out LSU. Now it’s time to remind ourselves what this team REALLY did against Clemson in the real Death Valley. Back to football now? Good. LSU is BRINGING IT!
As well as the amended complaint, the SEC also requested a temporary restraining order against LSU to pave the way for it to expel the university from the conference in a vote scheduled for Thursday.
Here's a portion of the TRO:
Judge William Jorden has sided with the players in their case against the SEC and NCAA.
He declares that a major factor in his decision is the SEC not following its own bylaw (12.6) for five years of eligibility.
He also enjoins LSU with the SEC and NCAA, stating that LSU cannot take action to harm the players by prohibiting them from playing.
Attorney Tony Clayton also asked SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey why the Ole Miss quarterback is allowed to play sixth year, when these kids are only asking for a 5th.
Sankey says because the QB had a medical condition. #LSU@LSUfootball
Calling them “NFL players” is at best disingenuous, and at worst intentionally deceptive @AGAlanWilson & @Georgia_AG.
They are not professional football players circling back after years in the NFL. They are college players who were told, by the NCAA, that they were done. So they took the only door that was open—only to watch the NCAA change the lock behind them.
It’s not hard to believe a conference based in Alabama is suing LSU over these players only a year after they allowed Alabama to play a basketball player under the same circumstance with not even a threat of consequences! #sec
South Carolina has landed a commitment from former Houston kicker Ethan Sanchez, his rep @Jross95 tells me, @chris_hummer and HaleMcGranahan for @CBSSports.
Was a Lou Groza Award semifinalist last year at Houston. Participated in rookie minicamp with the San Francisco 49ers.
In its filing, the SEC says LSU and coach Lane Kiffin "began an orchestrated campaign to recruit professional athletes to join the LSU football roster" and uses Kiffin's public statements about recruiting those players against him.
The SEC is suing LSU, its Board of Supervisors, President Wade Rousse, Athletic Director Verge Ausberry, and Head Coach Lane Kiffin in Federal Court in North Alabama.
As Greg Sankey is on the stand in Baton Rouge.

The SEC files a lawsuit against LSU, its president, board, AD & coach - a move discussed among SEC administrators for the last few days.
As explained in our Monday story, the suit is similar to the Big 12's action against Texas Tech in the Sorsby case https://t.co/9dhRairW1I
Is the hype around Lane Kiffin and the money spent on LSU’s roster going to lead to disappointment from Tiger fans if the team misses the playoff this year?
On a two-hour call today, CFP leaders did indeed discuss implementing participation rules that disqualify programs rostering former pro players. They also explored expansion toward a 24-team playoff.
Another meeting to deeper examine each issue is expected later this month.
Leonard Fournette was back in Baton Rouge this week to honor Trey’Dez Green + Whit Weeks with the coveted No. 7.
The #LSU icon also took the time to provide the team with chains - gifting DJ Pickett a No. 5 chain on Wednesday.
“Gotta bless the 5.”

After a Monday evening videoconference of the Presidents and Chancellors of the Southeastern Conference, the Conference is issuing the following statement:
It’ll be funny watching Alabama fans turn on DeBoer for adding #NFL talent to his roster. Poor guy can’t do anything right in Tuscaloosa.

LSU is currently expected to add former New Orleans Saints and ex-Ole Miss star defensive lineman Zxavian Harris, sources tell me and @AYSSPORTS.
6-foot-8, 330-pounder who was an All-SEC selection at Ole Miss last season.
