alrighty! let’s introduce myself
Hello! I’m a British wrestling fan in my early 20s (they/them/theirs)
Outside of wrestling, my main interests are advocacy for disability and social justice issues
I mainly follow NJPW, AEW, TNA, BritWres and CMLL, but will watch most things!
to make it absolutely clear i don't think anyone here got offended on alex's behalf? it's what he said on national (but watched worldwide) television that sends a very wrong message
it's disgusting no matter who says it and no matter who the wife is
it’s easy to take cheap shots against someone from behind your keyboard.
instead of getting all white-knight for a guy who is clearly in the wrong, why not actually spend your time educating yourselves on misogyny and the way in which marginalised folks are impacted
felt my point was fairly clearly "their dynamic clearly works for them but can we not normalise that kind of language in a fanbase that routinely shits on women" but unsurprisingly, said fans are now proving it for me in the replies
cheers guy, same time next week?
ironically "touching grass" (ie; gaining perspective) should make someone more empathetic towards the feelings of marginalised people, so who needs to touch grass truly
Serious question: why are women the only demographic that immediately gets all their concerns, questions, & opinions not just dismissed but outright shamed within wrestling fandom if it's not in line with what the general population of men think?
and before some dipshit comes in my replies all "who gives a shit stfu" as usual, the normalisation and repeated use of sexist language affect us all both in terms of what men and boys are told is okay to say and in what behaviour women and girls are taught to accept
