@AmandaThomasPhD@omarsakrpoet I’m just tired of people trying to find an underlying issue in things that just aren’t there. So what the kids dad is in the army, he’s not shown killing arabs soldiers why link it like he is? What if the kids dad was there supporting them?
@AmandaThomasPhD@omarsakrpoet Absolutely agree Amanda, it’s not about the poem it’s about trying to link a children’s television show to acts of war . The episode never insinuates anything to do with what war is, other than showing Rusty’s father in military fatigues. Why condemn the program for that?
@AmandaThomasPhD@omarsakrpoet Didn’t miss a thing. His father is at war, and Rusty misses him. This is a reality for a lot of children around the world. Yes, war is not great great but it is a sad reality of what is happening. Does that mean because of this we need to turn a heartwarming story in to negative?
@AmandaThomasPhD@omarsakrpoet The simple need to link a heart warming children’s show to a war and political statement is problematic in itself. Sympathetic to the cause but cmon
