Scary attorney with a scary middle name. Rep the world of YouTube, social media, influencers, entertainment, streaming, video games, copyrights & trademarks.
Would you risk the legality of esports gambling by trusting the googled answer? Tip, if they don't know how many states there are, don't trust their "legal" opinion.
How many times in the history of trademark registrations has this very specific description even been used??
(I just want to register a show about goats.)
If you represent yourself as a lawyer, you have a fool for a client; especially if you are going to use the email address “footlicker69@—.com” in legal proceedings. (Not kink-shaming just fool-shaming)
I knew things wouldn’t be back to “normal” after my injury but there is a new “normal” after my service dog, Loomis, came home after graduation. #bernedoodle#servicedog#dogs
I was today years old when I learned that I had been cited in a court decision... 🤩 Best of all, it's related to YouTube and trade secrets!
Back in 2017, I co-authored an article w @GeekAttorney called "The Law of YouTubers". It was published in @ABAesq 's Landslide Magazine.
It is not Fair Use to take someone else’s TikTok videos or Instagram Reels, compile them, and post the compilation on YouTube. It’s just copyright infringement and action can be taken to stop it.
Oh YouTubers, when will you realize that Fair Use disclaimers before a vid mean nothing but just prove your copyright infringement is knowing and willful. Also, not required, not even sure what that means..and someone does read it. 😉
Tip: if your law firm doesn't know the difference between a patent and a trademark, you might want to find a new law firm. Trademarks are for names, patent are for inventions. 🤪
If you are going to steal people’s content, a disclaimer like this proves you are a willful infringer. I’ll dm you a lawsuit instead of having to ask nicely that you take down your stolen content or credit the rightful owner.
Booo! Remember to tell scary ghost stories that are in the public domain only. Or blood-sucking copyright lawyers awake from their coffins with a lawsuit.
