I'm starting to get the mechanics
Less time on "is this sentence better than that one", more on "who is this post for"
Also learned the word prospect this month ==> a year of building for users without a name for the people who weren't users yet
My first paid TikTok ad : small budget, one post
A few downloads, fewer than I hoped, and still nobody went from download to subscription
But since that ad, not one of my posts has sat at 0 views ==> that side effect was worth more than the downloads π₯
@skedcast Fair point. That's why mine live in my own database instead of a scheduler. I batch to stay consistent, then rewrite or swap any of them the night before if something better happens
I used to schedule posts three weeks ahead
Felt organized, was the opposite : by the time a post went out I couldn't react to anything
New rule, two weeks in ==> one post each evening, written from what the day's numbers said
Slower to produce, faster to learn
Went through every hook I've posted. The ones that worked had nothing to do with the app. They were about the week before the exam.
Rewriting everything from that angle
@jul1anodev Not yet, 1.4 ships end of this week. What kept it going so far : I answered the same day, asked one precise question ("which screen?"), and told him exactly what changes. Plan is to reply in that same thread when it's live, so he sees his fix landed.
Day 84 and still working hard on making my app a banger. Let's go π₯
Scoreboard : 10 downloads, 0 paid, 1 user who found 2 UX issues in 5 minutes.
The issues get fixed in the next build. The 0 is next.
Looked my Tiktok analytics for the first time since MangoDoro launch. The ones taht worked all had one in common : they named the pain, not the app.
Lesson noted
@Pushpit07 Doing a version of that already : pairs of TikToks, same pain, one variable changed. Never thought of using the comments as the scoreboard though, I was only reading watch time. Stealing that π₯
Do you count exact quotes or just the theme people repeat?
@ttoeynattapon Mine is a study planner for exam dates, and βapp on slide 5β is exactly the format that works best for me so far ==> curious to see what youβd do with it
App link in your DMs π₯
OK, I'm hooked.
Actual loop : post something β watch the download curve twitch the next day β repeat
That feedback loop is the whole reason I'm STILL here building MangoDoro (FYI : a study timer born from my love for mangoes, because why not)
@Mauricedv@Mauricedv The update is live. Settings now has a "Rate MangoDoro" row, the top-right buttons are bigger and easier to tap and the app asks for a rating after your first harvest, never mid-session.
Thank you, your two notes went straight into this release π₯π
My App Store chart right now:
β impressions: going up π
β page views: curious, not committed
β downloads: 4 people and I'm pretty sure I know at least one of them (ππΎ)
This is what "just shipped" actually looks like. Posting it so nobody thinks otherwise and for me to remember to NOT give up
MangoDoro 1.4 is live.
A stranger replied to one of my posts with two notes : buttons too small to tap and nowhere to leave a rating. Both are fixed in this release π
First real user feedback, shipped in 2 days. That loop is the whole game π₯
