“I think I lost my ovaries.”
14-year-old Daksha said this after our period session.
She’d seen blood during constipation at 8—and believed that’s why her periods never came.
6 years of silent fear.
This is why @UnipadsIndia exists.
Period education = dignity #PeriodEducation
“She broke down in tears… it was her first period. No one had told her what it was.”
This isn’t rare. Across India, thousands of girls face their first period in fear and silence.
At @Unipads_India, we’re changing that — with safe spaces, period education & sustainable care.
#JaganFoundation has partnered with Madarsa Board to launch menstrual hygiene awareness camps for students as a pilot in 5 schools in Jaipur. The programme, called “Period Ka Period” will work on period counselling, breaking myths & stereotypes, as well as distributing reusable sanitary pads through support from @unipads_india
The real struggle was never menstruation—it was silence, stigma, and inaccessibility. With CIE’s support, we turned awareness into action.
This isn’t charity. It’s justice. And we’re just getting started.

As a MHM educator, I attend events to engage with beneficiaries. Lately two things that have come up from my personal interactions are early onset of periods and irregular periods among adolescents. Something to ponder upon and gain knowledge around. Blog on it? @unipads_india
