To be clear
Originally we tried to get Alumina into the EU’s 21st sanctions package. Last month, sadly that didn’t come to pass so we relaunched our campaign to have it included in the 22nd package
We are increasingly confident of doing so
Chris Wright: "If we had President Harris right now, we'd be dealing with blackouts and massive economic disruption because they would've continued to close all the coal plants"
The nice thing about this administration is that, after denying they’re trying to do the things everyone suspects they’re trying to do, they eventually come right out and say it themselves.
Tonight, Russia launched hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles against Ukraine. Behind every one of them stands not only the Russian military-industrial complex.
These weapons contain around 35,000 foreign components—mostly dual-use or even purely civilian parts manufactured by companies such as Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, Intel, AMD, STMicroelectronics, Infineon, NXP, Murata, Bosch, Toshiba, Raspberry Pi, numerous Chinese manufacturers, and many others. They are then creatively sourced through intermediaries before ending up at Russian defense plants.
What remains difficult to understand is why some manufacturers and governments still do not react decisively enough. We provide the evidence. When tens of thousands of your components are repeatedly found in Russian missiles and drones, that should be reason enough to strengthen export controls, distribution oversight, and compliance with high-risk customers.
Yes, sanctions and export controls have worked: Russia can no longer obtain some components. But it is still not enough.
As long as Russia can keep sourcing critical foreign technology, it will keep producing the missiles and drones that terrorize Ukrainian—and increasingly other countries’—cities.
As Zelenskyy's sanctions czar points out below, thousands of western components are found inside the Russian missiles that devastate Ukrainian cities nightly. "What remains difficult to understand is why some manufacturers and governments still do not react decisively enough. We provide the evidence. When tens of thousands of your components are repeatedly found in Russian missiles and drones, that should be reason enough to strengthen export controls, distribution oversight, and compliance with high-risk customers."

Ukraine targets Russian oil facilities to reduce funding for the Russian war machine. Russia targets Ukrainian civilians to terrorize them into surrender. This is a battle of good vs evil. https://t.co/wVCMay1rdR
1/ Russian warbloggers are warning that despite growing indications of a planned second mobilisation after the Russian legislative elections in September 2026, there are major unresolved practical problems in actually carrying out a new mobilisation. ⬇️
A European capital is on fire because Russia spent the night firing missiles at civilians in their beds.
Kyiv is full of smoke. People are buried under rubble.
This is terrorism.
President Donald J. Trump commuted the prison term of David Gentile, who led GPB Capital, less than two weeks after he began serving a seven-year sentence in a $1.6 billion fraud that prosecutors said harmed more than 10,000 investors. https://t.co/0JGqpVj7JW
Ukraine's foreign minister: "I also want to particularly emphasise that it is immoral to justify Russian atrocities against Ukrainians by saying that Moscow acts in response to Ukraine’s long-range strikes against Russia. In this war, there is an aggressor and a country defending itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter. Russia has no right to make any strikes against Ukraine, while Ukraine has every right to respond, defend from aggressor, and strike any legitimate military targets in Russia."
"Russia is obviously trying to terrorize Ukraine," said Andreas Umland [@UmlandAndreas] of the European Policy Institute in Kyiv, highlighting that Moscow's deadly overnight missile and drone attack on Kyiv was in retaliation for Ukraine's recent strikes on Russian energy infrastructure and military targets.
Do not delay decisions on air defense for Ukraine! This is our main request to our partners after Kyiv suffered a night of horror.
At least 10 people have been killed as a result of Russia’s brutal attack against the Ukrainian capital with all types of missiles and drones.
Sadly, this number may further rise. Rescue teams continue their work.
Russia targeted residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. War criminal Putin can only wage a vile and terroristic war against civilians, women and children. Because in his war against Ukraine’s Defense Forces he cannot achieve a single result.
Such strikes are grave war crimes and we are informing all partners and international organisations about them, calling for accountability and strong responses.
On the second day of my working trip to Japan, I will be informing all of my interlocutors about this strike and the need to increase pressure on the aggressor and support for the Ukrainian people.
We demand strong international responses. Not only words of condemnation but concrete action to stop Russian terror.
Decisions on air defense systems and missiles for Ukraine are needed right now, not later!
Decisions to increase sanctions pressure on Russia are needed right now, not later!
Decisions to increase support for Ukraine, including energy assistance, are needed right now, not later!
I also want to particularly emphasise that it is immoral to justify Russian atrocities against Ukrainians by saying that Moscow acts in response to Ukraine’s long-range strikes against Russia.
In this war, there is an aggressor and a country defending itself under Article 51 of the UN Charter. Russia has no right to make any strikes against Ukraine, while Ukraine has every right to respond, defend from aggressor, and strike any legitimate military targets in Russia.
Do not equate an aggressor and a country defending from aggression. Do not justify atrocities that cannot be justified.
This war is not only about Ukraine, it is about principles. And we need everyone in the world to be principled at this challenging time.

‼️ Russians only target civilians: in this video, you can see a residential apartment building in Kyiv on fire after being hit by a Russian strike.
Moscow is once again targeting civilians throughout the night of July 2 with drones and ballistic missiles.
Special Counsel Jack Smith and federal investigators found Trump held highly sensitive classified documents linked to his business interests, a potential motive left unresolved in court.
