I wonder if governments, universities (etc.) will ever again consider education — be it literature, music, mathematics — as inherently worthwhile, rather than just something to prepare you for a job. Learning should be about imagination, curiosity, enjoyment!
I was proud to secure a debate in Parliament on funding and support for classical music 🎼
Our classical music scene is a source of pride at home and admiration abroad. But recent cuts & decisions have been devastating and the industry faces deep uncertainty today 👇
I am so excited to be performing on Saturday 17th and again with my lovely school band on Saturday 24th. All free so why not come along and see these amazing performances in June?!
We're thrilled that young musicians will be taking centre stage at this years concert series, with students from @childwallcofe, Archbishop Beck Catholic College & The Choristers of Liverpool @LiverpoolMet@LpoolMetMusic Music Department all performing as part of the series.
Join us every Sunday* at 6:30pm for Compline led by our professional group, the St Faith's Consort.
*Compline will be replaced by Evensong on March 12th.

I was never good at maths and just scraped an O level. Two more years of the subject would have done my head in, taken me away from developing my other talents and been an utterly depressing waste of time.
@musicmissdavies I think it should also be funded properly to give students that desire to study Music to 18 before anything. A lot of public schools sometimes can't showcase student's true talent because there's just no money there for them
