Revenue Department is trying to snatch 2000 canals of fertile agricultural land in Dangerpora Pulwama from poor families who’ve cultivated paddy here since centuries. Like Sidhra the JK Government here too is misusing police to implement these illegal diktats by threatening to slap PSA against protesters. @manojsinha_@JmuKmrPolice
Kashmir’s land belongs to it’s people. Appalled that the locally elected government leaves no stone unturned to strip people of their land to ensure they become landless & homeless. @CM_JnK
Party leader @IltijaMufti_ interacted with farmers at Padgampora Pulwama and reiterated her unwavering support for their cause. She assured them that their concerns would be strongly taken up and that the struggle to secure and protect their land rights would continue with full resolve.
@IltijaMufti_ reached out to farmers in Pulwama and assured them of her support in safeguarding their land rights. She pledged to stand with them in the fight for land protection, saying, “We will not let anyone snatch our lands.”

Farmers in Padgampora and Dangerpora are being stopped from cultivating nearly 1,000 kanals of land they have farmed for years. Today, we joined them in sowing paddy on these very fields. Land that feeds families cannot be fenced off by bulldozers.
@OmarAbdullah government busy threatening protesters has no answer for farmers. By rejecting the PDP’s Land Protection Bill despite repeated appeals by @mehboobamufti, government has chosen land grabs over livelihoods.

#WATCH | Srinagar, J&K: On National Conference, PDP MLA Waheed Ur Rehman Para, says, “Our job as the opposition is to raise issues and point out where the situation is not right, whether it concerns the youth, unemployment, or the government repeatedly making mistakes regarding open merit. We aren't asking you to fix everything overnight. We understand the constraints regarding Article 370 and statehood, and that the government has its own compulsions. But consider the things that are within their control, such as education, agriculture, and horticulture. People are facing immense problems in all these sectors…if the government fails to work, and we hold them accountable, they resort to casting blame…AIIMS in Awantipora was initiated during Mehbooba Mufti's tenure. She brought two such projects to Jammu and Kashmir…it has been functional for 5 years…there is a vacuum in governance. There is a govt but there is no governance on the ground.”
13 year old Iqra went missing in Poonch for five days - until her body was recovered from Sathra river. The circumstances leading upto her death appear hazy & disturbing.
First Budgam now Poonch - there are beasts roaming amongst us who prey upon little girls. As a society where are we headed? @PoonchDm@PoonchPolice
Unfortunate that PDP Leader & leading social activist Talib Chowdhary has been jailed for fighting for the rights of poor marginalised tribal community. Treating him like a criminal simply for taking out a peaceful march against an arbitrary demolition drive in Sidhra sends a chilling negative message to Gujjar Bakerwals who have always stood by India. Talib must be released @manojsinha_@JmuKmrPolice
PDPs Talib Hussain arrested last week has been accused in his chargesheet of attacking the police with ‘deadly missiles’. Pray tell what missiles were these? Talib didn’t fling a single stone.
All he did was articulate the injustice of families whose homes were demolished.
Imagine the state of affairs in J&K if a man is thrown into jail on the basis of such ludicrous allegations? That too in the Hon’ble High Court?
Release Talib Hussain immediately.
Only if they’d spent even half of this energy about why she visited on WHY AIIMS Awantipora still remains incomplete a decade after Mufti Sahab laid its foundation in 2015! At least for whatever reason AIIMS Awantipora is back in focus. This government’s priorities & sense of entitlement will cost people of J&K deeply.
Yes, Autonomy Resolution to business rules that’s what 50 MLAs of NC have achieved.
And spare us the history lessons. The National Conference emerged from the dissolution of the Muslim Conference and Muslim identity.
Why did Mehbooba Mufti seek a review of the ongoing work at AIIMS?”
That has to be one of the most absurd questions being asked right now, especially by other opposition leaders. One can still understand why voices from the National Conference would raise it, but why are opposition parties questioning it too?
If you are in opposition, why not go yourself and seek feedback, reviews and answers on projects across J&K? Why don't you go out as well and take stock of the ongoing projects in and outside of your constituencies? What's stopping you? Why must one first be granted office, protocol and official designation before demanding accountability on behalf of the people?
That is precisely the difference between a leader and a politician. A politician operates only within the confines of offices and systems. A leader stands with the people irrespective of titles, positions or protocol.
Kashmir needs more leaders who step out to seek answers for the people, and fewer politicians who only politicise it when someone else does.
A welcome push by @MehboobaMufti for a project that has the potential to transform healthcare access across South Kashmir and beyond. AIIMS Awantipora must come soon enough at a time when J&K’s health infrastructure is under immense strain. Appreciable that the issue has been taken up directly with Union Health Minister JP Nadda ji and that assurances have been secured for timely completion. The people of J&K deserve world-class healthcare closer to home as Mufti Shaib envisioned .
Spoke with Union Health Minister JP Nadda ji & requested him to expedite the ongoing work at AIIMS Awantipora so that it doesn’t get delayed any further. He was kind enough to assure me about its completion well on time.
Undoubtedly the team assigned here is toiling day & night but given how healthcare is crumbling across J&K it’s imperative AIIMS Awantipora is operational soon. Will provide much needed relief & quality medical services.
