This article is so full of garbage, but typical of UK Right Wing media. In fact, it’s pure fiction @TheCeliaWalden . See attached images. Hilary Cass is not a world renowned paediatrician. She’s a gender critical lesbian, who’s never worked with trans people. Cass was cherry-picked by trans-hostile Kemi - no interviews involved, because the outcome was decided from the off. Hence why Gender Specialists and actual trans people were (astonishingly) banned from advising on their own healthcare. Cass is not peer reviewed - and has been condemned across the board by every credible medical body in the world. Yale DID conduct a peer-reviewed study - concluding Cass was dangerous and seriously flawed. The exact same “medical experiment” puberty blockers you talk of are now over half a century old - and are still being prescribed to c i s and intersex kids. Totally harmless. In the consultation on whether @wesstreeting should make the ban permanent, 75% of medical orgs/experts said no. But religious Wes went with the minority 25% , which was made up of trans hate groups and religious cranks. Yet your piece makes it seem like the medical profession support the ban - when the opposite is true. Kemi has even admitted she couldn’t get the NHS to do what she wanted - so had to hijack it, by making Gender Critical appointments in key NHS roles specifically to target trans healthcare. The words you choose here expose your bias, Celia. To describe trans kids as being experimented on, or ‘mutilated’…what a cow. Such a disgusting thing to say.
