“I quickly outgrew ideas. So I distrusted experts, who were often intelligence confined within high walls, knowing indeed every paving-stone of their prison courts: while I might know from what quarry the stones were hewn and what wages the masons earned” T. E. Lawrence
Lewis and Clark were American explorers who led one of the most important expeditions in U.S. history. Commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson following the Louisiana Purchase, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark departed from St. Louis in 1804 with the Corps of Discovery to map the newly acquired western territories, find a practical route to the Pacific Ocean, document plants and animals, and establish trade relations with Native American tribes.
Accompanied by Sacagawea and other members, they successfully reached the Pacific in 1805 and returned in 1806, providing invaluable scientific, geographic, and cultural knowledge that shaped America's westward expansion.
In honor of their greatness, I propose we build these 300-foot-tall statues in their honor on the Missouri River.
All it requires is significant private funding, and I will lead the operation!
@stephenehorn New Bern Ave is nothing but a conglomerate of homeless blacks, africans, indians, and middle easterners. They’re all trying to get their immigration papers notarized and I-9 verifications. All of them mind you have real IDs/DL even if they’re only the temp ones
